About
PONG for Hope was born out of the desire for the Lifeblood Youth group of First Church of the Nazarene in Warrensburg, MO to do something bigger than we had ever done. It started last year as we participated in the 30 Hour Famine, like we usually do every year. Tired of just collecting a few small donations, the youth group wanted to do something that would both reach out to a larger population of people, but also to raise awareness of different issues facing people in the world.
There is no larger audience than the internet! So, being inspired by Desert Bus for Hope which raises money for Child’s Play, we came up with PONG for Hope. The idea is simple. You donate money, the more money that comes in, the longer we play the original arcade game of PONG. PONG may just be the most boring game in the world nowadays, and rest assured, playing it for days on end is no fun! But it is funny to make us play longer, and we love it because we raise more money for those in need.
This year, we decided to help the people of Haiti with their relief efforts. We know that LONG after the camera crews and news reporters leave, the need will still be great. PONG for Hope: Haiti Edition hopes it can stand in this gap a bit, and bring some help to our brothers and sisters there.
Make sure to donate NOW to PONG for Hope! All funds will go DIRECTLY to Haiti, with no administrative costs coming out of the total raised.
