Helping Haiti, One Point at a Time

The idea is simple.  The more money you donate to Haiti, the longer we play the original game of PONG.  You got it, two players, two lines, one blip and hours of mindless game playing.  You can interact with us using the live cam feeds, or our live chat room.

The Lifeblood Youth Group from First Church of the Nazarene in Warrensburg, MO wanted to do something different to help with the relief efforts in Haiti.  Since getting there right now is simply not possible, raising money was the obvious answer.  However, we wanted to do something that was going to raise a large amount of money, and was more effective than simply getting pledges from people.  We put our thinking caps on, and asked ourselves, what is something that we can do that people will want to pay to MAKE us do for a long period of time.  From there, Pong for Hope was born.  If you have ever played the game of pong, you know that it may be the most boring game ever invented.  Well, we are going to play the game 24/7 while the donations come in.  The more money comes in, the longer we play.

To keep us honest, we will have two webcams going at all times.  One on the two players who are Ponging at the time, and one on the actual game itself so that you can see that we are indeed playing classic Pong.  We will also have an interactive chat room where you can “talk” to the people in the room, and have some fun with them.

All money collected will be going to Haiti to help with relief efforts.  You can use the chipin widget on our page to donate money through paypal.  What are you waiting for?

Donate to keep us Ponging!
